  • Help Please. Can I have peas and pea shoots from one plant?

    Hi,

I am growing peas this year and have seen articles about eating pea shoots. If I harvest the top from my pea plants now (They are about 6-10 inches tall) will they still go on to produce peas, and if so will they take longer to produce peas and produce less than if the shoots hadn't been pinched?

Any advice will be well appreciated.

Yes you can but as you say you might have to sacrifice some peas for the shoots.

Personally, I'd sow a pot just for the shoots - the seeds aren't that expensive for the resulting harvest.

Use Leo's peas for the shoots cheap as chips I ended up planting them by mistake in the allotment and they have given me a bumper crop despite being out of date I sowed them for the shoot but ended up planting them out somehow lol
In the following link you can follow my recent progress on the plot
