All i can tell is,it looks like a small tree of some kind, has some leaves fallen of,if so a close up pic would be better, also of the leaves still on it,have a look around, see if there is any such like near in others gardens,i know over the years i have had many a strange tree/shrub things grow, maybe the birds and squirrels ext bring them in,if it is a tree, just watch the root does not get to big,it could become a nuisance, also if you were to give it a measure up,peeps would have a better prospective,

Picture is far too small for me to tell what it is. I know - I need to go to Specsavers.

If the tree the other side of the fence is a cherry, it's a good bet that this sapling is too, but the pic is not really clear enough to tell. Can you pick a leaf and photo it against a ruler so we have an idea of size?

I think we're all having that problem MH, with or without specs

I personally think it's a cherry. Light smooth bark and the oval leaves on the right hand "branch" a tinge of red (I could be wrong)

Wait until spring, then you can ID the tree by its flowers
