| My first post, so hello all... I have been lurking on the forum for a few days during lunch time at work, but because of the computer acceptable use policy, I can't post messages from there and had to log on from home to register. Its a great forum, I have already found lots of useful information here. I inherited a greenhouse when we moved into our present address and have been growing a few plants since. This year we have a decent crop of toms, cucumbers and salad leaves of various kinds. Earlier this year my small son planted a few Minipop F1 sweetcorn seeds and mistakenly I put them in the bed inside the greenhouse. They are now seven foot tall and show no sign's of slowing down. Anyone any idea just how big they could grow? Thanks Richard |

| mine last year grew to about 7 or 8 foot tall, much taller than my neighbours 'big' sweetcorn, did get about six or seven mini cobs off each plant though.

| Hello DickyMint. I believe the Minipop can grow 7 to 8 feet high. If only - mine are about 1 foot high. I'm thinking of having them out as not expecting a crop from them. Might be better to plant something I know will produce a crop. Good luck with yours. Yours sound hopeful Jennie.

| My sweetcorn are only about a foot high also. I thinks I'll have a bash at minipop next year!

| We planted out both our minipop and normal (Lark and Ovation) sweetcorns out at the end of April, the minipop was about 2' high at the weekend, and the maincrops are both at between 18" and 2' tall! I'm still hoping we are going to get some crops from them, even if it doesnt look hopeful! All of them seem to have jusr started to produce the 'male 'flowers'', the bits that produce the pollen to fall onto the tassels of the kernels, so its still a possibility, or at least I'm still hoping! ![]()

| I believe as soon as the tassels show on the minipops you should harvest the corn, Each tassel has a baby corn. I grew some a couple of years ago, they do not have to be planted in a block like the sweet corn and they will certainly grow just at tall. With the sweetcorn tassels you have to wait until they turn brown, but not with the baby corn. |
