... growing speedy seeds calabrese at this time of year?

I stopped at Wyevale yesterday and bought some seeds and one of the packs is Suttons Speedyveg calabrese which is supposed to be ready in 10 weeks.

Has anyone had a go at growing this at this time of year?

I am going to give some a go, in flower buckets, in the house (don't tell Madmax) with a daylight lamp in the evenings. As it is supposed to be sown in April/May I am going to assume it is heat tolerant. As it doesn't need to be pollinated that shouldn't be a problem. Since the seeds only cost 50p it won't break the bank if it doesn't work.

Certainly sounds worth a try, shirl. Might well give it a go myself. Going back to supermarket broccles after several months of picking and cooking my own inside 15 mins was a horrible shock.

Have you got some seeds or would you like me to send you a few? Not sure if it is a special type to be ready so quickly
