Had anyone done this? I found some little gem seeds and decided to stick them in some paper towels as I was potting some other veg. Its probably not a good idea as transplanting would be a nightmare.

I would be terrified as lettuce seed is tiny!
If you have the patience and some tweezers then great :-) I haven't had trouble with them germinating though"Live like a peasant, eat like a king..."

I sow a couple of seeds to a module for lettuce. Although small you can easily separate the seeds when dry. I do 6 modules every couple of weeks and it works well. The seeds are cheap and easy to germinate

I do this all the time, by making kitchen roll seed tapes with my students. As soon as you see germination, pop the strips onto a seed tray half full of compost and cover with a little compost and they grow through.Originally posted by Naga View Post
