  • French Bean bad rust - are beans still ok to eat?

My French bean plants have quite bad rust on all the leaves.
Are the beans still ok to eat?

I've never had rust on bean plants so I'm probably not the best one to answer this but if the pod looks ok, eat it!

I'm with the other two on eating the pods.
Once you have rust, it can be carried on to the next bean crop, you'll need to bin the dead leaves and plants and don't save any seeds for resowing although fine to eat

I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite, the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
