  • Freezing Sweetcorn

Hi, I have just picked my sweetcorn cobs, but to many to eat now.
Can I freeze them? if so, how?, ie do I need to take the corn of the cob and part boil, then freeze? any suggestions gratefully received.
    Thanks

i froze my cobs whole last year - straight from plant to freezer bag to freezer - i eat corn on the cob with loads of butter - it's the only way to eat sweetcorn!!

      snap!!!!
Leaving the leaves around the cob seems to keep them better in the freezer too.
I always need to defrost more than I need as some of them can be disappointing when stripped. Better too many I reckon!!!!

I like to freeze some as kernels - just blanch the cob for a minute or two in boiling water then rapidly cool in cold water - then slice the kernels off (I slice down the cob with a bread knife) and freeze - great to use later microwaved with butter!
You can use them to make succotash!

Many thanks for that, I'll try to freeze some whole, and also blanch some and freeze the kernals.
          Off to do it now.
