  • flowers going brown

the flowers on my female winter squash plants have been turning brown and dropping off before they even get big and open. Is this because of all the rain? or something else?

I would think it's the rain and dampness causing them to rot. Are they in pots or open ground?

Your squash plant will produce male and female flowers - is it just the females that are dropping off?
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

i think some male as well, but not all of them, i was just concerned with the female coz i want some squash on this plant. i'll just have to keep my fingers crosssed that we wont get another week of complete rain so my flowers get chance to open.

oh and its in a pot

Hope it's a large pot. Any chance you could move it somewhere sheltered?
