Default flowering potatoes

Hi everyone, I put a row of maincrop spuds in about a month ago and are now only about 6-10" out of the ground and they are flowering! Is this bad news? My spuds have always been very well grown before they flower, will I still get spuds from them?
Many thanks
Eden

Dig down and have a look...see if any sizable spuds say hello, if not cover them back up and wait a bit. I prefer not to leave them in the ground untill leaves die of because last time I did this I got more pest damage. Flowering or not didn't seem to make a difference to yield.

No, It's not really bad news.

Leave them in the ground until the leaves die down if you want pretty big spuds.

However if you want smaller spuds have a dig down and see what there is

Maincrop shouldn't produce spuds after just a month. It's no problem that they are producing flowers though. You usually wait for the haulm to die back before you dig up maincrops.
