    Morning everybody

This has no doubt been asked before but what do you consider to be the best cropping first early?

I tend to grow Arron Pilot but not the best cropper for me, any suggestions?

I grew Pentland Javelin this year and yes tehy produced a decent sized crop. However, they weren't particularly early considering that I planted them in bags in the garage and moved them outside later. The Charlotte (2nd early) were planted later, outside in dustbins, and were ready at about the same time. Charlotte produced a decent crop and the potatoes were much nicer, and in general bigger than Pentland Javelin. I've also tried Duke of York, which I was not very keen on and produced a small crop (in bags) and Maris Bard, which were nice potatoes but not very prolific (again in bags).

Rocket produced very well for me in tubs, not the best flavour though.

Lady C for me. I use it both as a first early and a second early which gives me some very nice chippers and bakers.

We did Pentland Javelin for first early, definitely going back to Charlotte for next year. There is no comparison on the taste IMO, Pentland broke up when boiling as well

It was my first year of growing potatoes so I have nothing to compare against!
I grew rocket but was not very impressed, charlottes were much better and ready at same time.
