  • Early Onion Sowing

Have just sown some Alisa Craig in an unheated propogator.

I know onions should not really be started until about December but just thought I would give em a go.

Any thoughts on this people? Will I see any different results no results or just the same results? (Or am I just wasting my time!).

    Cheers all!

I think zazen was doing that this year, or last year, worked well for her I think.
I was thinking about it funnily enough this morning and just ordered some seeds.

Yes, I do....and I've got some seedlings due to be planted out as soon as I have clear beds.

I grow them under cover to keep them cosy.....just a long cloche....and they are picked in the spring.

I know when I started leeks off the year before, they all bolted, is that a problem you've had?

And more to the point I suppose, is it just the extra growing time that makes it worthwhile?
