  • Drying peas/mangetout on the plant

I left a few pods until they were crispy/holey/falling off the plant. the peas inside now are yellow.. the ones in the packets etc I've bought are green - is this normal?

They do vary in colour. Can you remember what the variety is and what colour the seeds were when you sowed them.

I've done the same, this time with petit pois Pee Wee. They were green in the packs I bought but yellow when dried on the plant or on the window sill. It's been the same with most varieties I've kept over the years and doesn't seem to make any difference to germination or plants.

Dwarf Sugar Mangetout iirc... these were plug plants, but the peas I've saved were green (greenshaft) and are also yellow-y in colour when dried! thanks
