  • Dried Haricot Beans

I'm leaving the bigger beans on the plants so I can dry them out, but when do I know to harvest them

When the pods are dry and you can hear the beans rattle when you shake the pod.
Sent from my pc cos I don't have an i-phone.

If the weather continues like today you will be hard pushed to dry them out on the plant as it is p***** down. When the pods have turned brown and we get a few dry days, you can finish drying them indoors but the main criteria is that the beans are mature.

Thanks they are still green, so will wait.

Don't know about being lucky, no decent rain for months, ground is like concrete and the corner of my house has developed bad cracks, because the ground has dried out so much hubby is going to have to underpin that area

We've not had decent rain for about 3 weeks .. just hot, dry and very windy weather.

My beans aren't good this year
