  • Disaster strikes! Or, an early harvest?

Went to the garden earlier to find this:

Tomato plants are mostly intact. A few fallen fruit.

Pepper plants have several branches snapped/torn off, many fruit shed.

    Bloody wind!

What a pain... but looking on the bright side your peppers look fantastic! Much bigger than mine and a better colour too.

        Oh dear

Tomatoes should ripen indoors, especially if you leave them in the same bowl as the bananas.

They all look gorgeous and healthy though - just have some mild chillis and green peppers in your chilli?
The toms might ripen if you put them with a banana or two...?

On the same note, all my shelly beans fell over because the wind was so strong it broke one of the canes!

            Thanks for the replies all.

The fallen fruit have been sitting on a sunny windowsill in a wooden box (without banana): the cherry tomatoes have been ripening well, but the plums remain stubbornly green, just like all the others still on the bush outside, despite my cutting off all growing shoots and giving them a major de-leafing.

The larger jalapenos turned yellow, but they've now all been pickled.

              Your peppers look brilliant!

I can never grow peppers like that

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.
