I planted some cucumber seeds 5 days ago in the heated propagator and they are big already!! Possibly 2 inches...what should I do with them - put them out of the propogator or leave them in there for a bit?

yes, remove them from the propogator but make sure you don't stress them by giving them too much of a change in growing conditions. They may still need a bit of heat to keep them growing on so keep an eye on them.

Well I read in various places that they should be planted indoors about now, so did. Not to worry though, there's only 2 of them, and they are dwarf variety so won't get massive (unlike my rubber plant, which is 2M and growing into the ceiling, I'm flummoxed with that one!)Comment

Dont worry we've all planted something early and run out of room, you will learn not to always follow whats on seed packetComment

nm - I sowed some last year in February
They were HUGE by the time I got them outside. One died of wind burn, and the other 5 produced teeny cucumbers, then all the flowers dropped off. Cut my loses and composted 'em.

Mmmmmmm I sowed masses of cucumbers yesterday.....Hmmm too early? I do have a conservatory and a porch that they can go in until its warmer.... In fact thats where some of them are going to stay anyway...
Just tottered off and had a count up -14 cucumber plants and 3 gherkins... Gulp (think I'm going slightly mental about sowing seeds....)Comment
