    Hello

i am growing cucumbers in my green house in grow bags.

i am finding that as the new growth appears on the top of the plant the leaves below start turning yellow and going dry.

the compost in the grow bag is moist and the plants are shaded a little from full sun.

    what am i doing wrong?

    cheers

    Three possibilities to investigate:
    1. They have been over waterered for a small plant and the roots have rotted in a huge soggy growbag...doh!
    2. they are hungry- feed with tom food once a week and spray plant with maxicrop as a general tonic
    3. They have tny spidermites ...leaves with have pinhole sized white marks . Best cure persimillus predatory mite

Let me know if you suspect any of these to be the case.

      Hello Paulottie

      thanks for your reply.

I have checked as the growbag is not water logged, there is good drainage. i have been feeding them once a week with tomoato food (as you say)
and i have checked for the pinhole white marks, and i can see them just the leaves drying.

the plants just keep on growing and are now about a foot tall, which new shoots comming out of the top, it it just that the old leves seem to be drying out.

i really am at a loss, and quite disapointed cos i was looking forward to my home grown cucumbers.

thanks do you have any more ideas?
