| We've got a biet alpha type that grows the sort of cucumber you get when abroad - well we got the seeds when on hol in Cyprus! They are totally prolific and just the right size (5/6 inch). We've one growing in the greenhouse, up string and along the back of the beds under the toms, and it is kept in check by regular chopping of leaves and side-shoots but its still taking over!!!! ![]()

| That sounds great to me. I have only had 2 off of my plant this year so far. They were about 8inch long when I decided I couldn't wait any longer. I have been growing it outside, and I think this may make a difference. Sorry I've got no advise on how to stop it going mad. But I think it could be due to you feeding it 2/3 times a week. BBC recommend every 2 weeks. I personally do mine every 10 days when I do my Tomato's. http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/htbg/...cumbers1.shtml |

| We have 100 cucumber plants now a total of 20 varietys and they are all doing better than ever before. We have now started selling them to a local garden centre!!! What size pot is your plant in? If its a very small pot this could bge your problem, the smaller the pot the bigger the plant (obveously they do have to be reasonable pots thought) or and try feeding every 5 days Hope this helps Adam. |

| My greenhouse is beginning to resemble a jungle. I didn't pinch off the tomato tips quickly enough and they've hit the roof, then I've got three lemon cucmber plants going beserk and the poor peppers trying to cope. They're all producing fruit at a great rate so I'm letting them fight it out. ![]() |
