  • clear pots

hi all, recently bought some clear pots, mainly because they were very cheap, but i know that some plants don't like their roots exposed to light-just can't remember which! Can anybody help? I'm leaning toward repotting my peppers and chillis but would welcome any advice.

I tried clear pots once, and found they just encouraged green algae to form. I went back to black

Be a shame not to use them, could always paint them black or line them with a bit of a bin liner.

I used lemonade bottles cut in half this year for peppers and they grew really well with a contained but strong root ball. I punctured the bottom of the bottles for drainage and they worked well for me as I'd run out of pots.

You can't grow potatoes in clear or even white pots as the tatties go green! *As I found out to my detriment*
