I have never cleaned a pot or a tray - probably because I'm lazy. I can understand cleaning if you have had disease. What are the problems if i don't clean? How do you clean and what do you use?

Just wash my empty pots and trays in hot water with washing up liquid. Or if I forget when I empty them I brush out any dry compost just before re-filling. -

I just brush them out before putting fresh soil in.

I just let mine dry out and brush off any loose compost before reusing. Never had any problem with this routine and life's too short to wash as well!

i have given all my pots a wash - some with hot water , others just with cold - before putting them away in the cellar - however if i use them more than once during the year i just make certain they are clear of soil/compost.....Comment

I never used to wash, but got fed up with having dry bits of soil and compost all over the shed, the kitchen, myself ... now I wash in hot soapy water with the other dishes (after the other dishes)

Last year I filled a plastic dustbin with water, and a large dose of ***** Fluid and soaked everything for ages, then rinsed off the gunk with a hosepipe.
Thanks to you lot, I have now deleted that job from my 'to do' list!

Don't wash mine either. If anything nasty is going to happen, it's been waiting nearly 40 years to do it!

I keep a paintbrush in the greenhouse just for this reason; it even has its own hook.
