  • Chilli Question

    Hi all

This is my first year growing chillis and after planting from seed about 2 months ago they are only a couple of inches high... They've been outside for about 4 weeks, should they really be kept in the greenhouse still?

    Thanks for the help

Yes, while they are small they will definately be better of in the GH. Only mature and well hardenned plants will grow well outside in my experience.

Ive always struggled with chillis, i used to plan my greenhouse for tomatos and cucumber, never any room for anything else, so the chillis and peppers got sent outside ! and never did very well with our weather !!!!, now i give them the growing space inside and they do well

Add a nice 5mm topping of coffee grounds to the soil.

Experimented with my first crop last year, those with the coffee grounds did much better, had fewer pests, and gave bigger pods.

Roses like them too, and I'm going to sprinkle some round the edges of my raised beds too.
