Sorry folks, I know there's been some discussion about this, but I've searched and searched and well, you know. I'm going to try some celery for the first time, but wondered about trying it in buckets. Would it be one plant per bucket, or should I be looking to have a "block" in a bucket?

Don't forget celery needs HUGE amounts of water when grown in containers. I've grown four self-blanchers in a twelve inch square pot and one in a standard flower bucket.Comment

Thanks both. I've bought some little plants and put four in each flower bucket. I'll transplant to one per bucket and I'd better look to see if it's self-blanching! The saucer idea is good. Celery is a water plant so it doesn't mind getting its feet wetComment
