  • Cauliflowers goning to seed

This last week I have counted about ten little cauli's starting to form in the base of the crowns. This week half of them have gone like shooting stars. I fear that the rest are gonna go to seed aswell with this heat if it contuinues.

I am watering them at about 11pm when I get home from work so they are not beeing watered in the heat.

    Any suggestions.......?

The calibrese have started forming too. I'm worried they are gonna do the same thing..............

Hello Sparky, if your veg are bolting it's likely to be due to the extreme heat we have had recently. I'm sorry, but I don't know of anything you can do about it.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

My broccoli has also formed a head/curd - judging by the tone of this thread I get the impression that this is too early - My cauli's are all leaf & nothing else - when are the curds supposed to form??

I've already finished harvesting my first crop of calabrese. They did develop small heads early with the mixed weather we had and 1 flowered. Also had plenty of small shoots after main head cut.Was def smaller crop than usual. One of my cauli's has also developed a small curd now so watching that very carefully now!The rest are still leafy!
