This is from those BBC Dig In seeds. It's meant to be a butternut squash, but doesn't look like it to me. I mean, I was expecting more of a butternut squash shape! Or will that develop as it gets bigger?

I've grown butternut squash before, and they do look like tiny butternut squash from the word go.... But what will your's become..how exciting... Keep us posted -

I've got a couple of BNS plants and one of the squashes,I think it was the first to develop,looks exactly like yours all the rest look like normal BNS

I've got two plants grown from the Dig It seeds and both have squashes exactly the same - glad it's not just me!! Ah well, it adds to the excitement...Comment

The very few butternuts I've managed to grow have looked like tiny butternuts from the start - sort of pear shaped.Comment

Some of mine are quite rounded this year, but I can't think if they're THAT round. Will have to check after work and report back! I don't care what shape they are if they taste the same.

Not growing any this year but the ones I had last year looked like BNS shape from the start.

Right, reporting back as promised! I checked my squash plant and the one looking like your's is on the same branch as a normal looking one. So, could well be BNS. No idea why I have a mixed population - all the others look normal.Comment
