I use a corkscrew to drill mine

Mainly because I can't find the electric drill.

I think I have also blundered today. I planted out what I thought were leeks. Nice deep holes with the dibber and watered them in to get some soil around the roots.

However, the more I think about it the more I think they were onions. I really can't remember.

Only time will tell.

I attack mine with a kitchen knife because I can't find my drill either
