best place to but elephant garlic

    best place to but elephant garlic

    I grew elephant garlic for the first time last year, it came as part of the garlic lovers set from The Garlic Farm. We really enjoyed it and I saved 3 cloves which are now busy growing roots in their pots outside. I want to grow more tho but I am struggling to find anywhere that has them for a decent price. I found Unwins have two bulbs for £7.95, this seems the best price around but with nearly £5 postage it seems that these garlic are a bit of a luxury.

    Any ideas, anyone?

      I enjoyed growing my elephant garlic last year, but was a bit disappointed at the mildness. Have since found out that they're not a true garlic. I kept a few cloves to re-plant, but the price buying new bulbs / cloves is really off-putting for a not fantastic crop
      My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

        Its best not to treat them as garlic. We roast ours with our other roast veg and they go all soft and creamy and sweet tasting.

          My local garden centre has pre packeted bulbs. I can't swear to it but I am almost certain it was 3 bulbs for £2.49.
