  • Beetroot seedlings

    Hi!
I am quite new in growing my veggies...
I planted a couple of weeks ago some beetroot seeds in an egg box (carton), now the seedlings are out, they look very nice, but perhaps too healthy... they are quite high, between the pair of leaves and the soil they have about 3 to 4 cm and they are starting to bend.
I am planning to replant them today or tomorrow in my garden in their definitive place.
What do I need to do with them??? replant them deep until the pair of leaves? just like the brussel's sprouts? (I did plant them last year with a lot of success)
    Thanks for your help!

Plant them at the same depth they are in the egg carton. Too healthy?! I usually plant out mine out from modules when have about 4 or more true leaves.

Hi Bego- and welcome to the Vine!!

I've never planted on beetroot but they do sound rather leggy( bit like my sunflowers)

I think you'll need to plant them deepish, but I've no idea how they will come out - there's only one way to find out though isn't there???

I think I'd plant to half way down the stem.
