| My newbie neighbour has bought two beefsteak tomato plants and the flowers look like dandelion flowers - is this normal?? She is canadian, and when she grew them over there, the flowers didn't look like that. Is there something wrong with the plants? Many thanks, Jennifer |

| So does that mean that my neighbour has to remove the flower, or can she just leave it? Jennifer

| The very first flowers that appear on my marmandes ( grown from seed ) are usually as you describe. The toms develop but are often misshapen. I remove these flowers and all the other seem to be normal - giving excellent toms. |

| Thank you very much - my neighbour was worried, so when I went round to see her about some seeds she wanted, she asked me and I had no idea, I only grow cherry tomatoes ( and this year, a plum tomato variety). Thanks, Jennifer
