  • Autumn broad beans and peas

    Hi everyone,

I have what is probably a daft question. I've just bought my broad beans and peas for autumn sowing. I was wondering if it would be okay to sow them in my root trainers and in the propagator? I used this method for all my beans and peas back in May/June time. It gave me a really good germination rate. I realise I'd have to harden them off before planting down on the allotment. But I then wondered if sowing them this way would actually cause the plants problems through the winter.

    Any advice on this?

    Thanks in advance! LF

Root trainers will be fine, but no need for a propagator I would say.....
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

As Trip said, roottrainers would be fine, but forget the propagator. It's plenty warm enough for them to germinate without extra heat.
