  • Aubergine "Turkish Orange"?

Have any Grapes grown this variety?

Is it particularly tricky to germinate?

I've never grown Aubergines before, but the "Listada di Gandia" which I planted at the same time, in the same propagator, at the same temperature (22C) have all germinated and are romping away!

Is it too late late to try again?

(I really like the idea of miniature orange Aubergines, funny coloured Veg rule!)

I've never given aubergines a proper try until this year, but I've started with Purple Long, which sounds a bit boring compared to yours! They were up quite quickly and are growing strong. Some types of chilli take longer than others, so I suppose this could be the case with aubergines. I'm sure someone more experienced in aubergines will be along soon. I would sow some more anyway just to be on the safe side?

I sowed some of these and had zero germination All my aubergines are going outside so needed to sow them early but if yours are going in a gh perhaps there is still time?

According to the moon planters, today is (and yesterday) the day to plant fruiting veg/fruit with internal seeds - i.e. aubergines. If you've spare seeds and time - you've nothing else to loose

they'll be in the Conservatory, which gets very "greenhouseish" in summer

When you say this... Are we talking > a month to germinate? if so, I may have been premature with the disposal of the previous batch!

3 weeks ish. I almost gave up but I had some chillies in the same tray so left them. I leave chillies up to 6 weeks as I always forget to check if the compost is damp enough or the ideal conditions etc etc
