| Hello Apart from planting a few pepper seeds, I spend most of my weekend creating a new feature on our pepper website that may be of interest to anyone growing peppers. http://www.thechileman.org/create_list.php Basically we are creating a world map showing people who grow peppers, where they are growing, and what varieties. It is easy and fun to add yourself to the map, and it also creates are nice "growing list" that you can bookmark and refer to. Hope you find this interesting and useful. Regards Julian |

| Have tried to add myself but not sure I've done it right as can't see myself there - also can't remember some of the seed types I have so will have to check again at home tonight.

| Well, I can see Shirl and Alison on the map so chances are the browser you were using before didn't work with the map - this is something beyond our control - you'd need to update your browser. There is nothing wrong with the map. Alice, you put your longditude and latitude as "1874" which is actually your pepper variety. I have wiped your entry from the database so you'll still be able to use that name - feel free to try again. Honestly, it all works as it should. |

| I saw your entry go into the database twice more Alice but both times you got it wrong. You need to drag that red map marker to where you are growing, then copy the longditude and latitude that will appear into the white box. You copied your pepper variety again. If you tell me where abouts you are (as specific or vague as you like) I will put you on the map. Let me know. Thanks. Last edited by unconcerned; 08-01-2007 at 10:58 PM. |

| Thanks Julian, can find myself on the map but get error messages when I click for list. Need to update it anyway when I go though my seeds to check which varieties I'm going for.

| Great Map Julian!! I've popped us on it, and added our current seed stocks, all of which are mild ones according to your database, even the one I had which says hot is only medium by your standards, so cant wait to see what hotties you are going to blow my head off with! ![]() As an aside to this, should we have one of these map things for the vine? Looks to me like a good way for folks to see where we are in relation to one another!

If we all grow chilis this year and all put ourselves on Julian's map, we will find out where everyone is anyway |

| Ahh.... Well........ I haven't asked yet. I need to know exactly what we want first and I wondered if we should have sub forums to cover spices, culinary uses and herbalist uses. Also it needs more support from the members.

| Hello Mrs D, I can't see your chillie on the map. Where is it ? You can see mine just above the w in Glasgow. Yes, the map is a wonderful idea (thank you again Julian). I suggested something similar for the Vine last year, but as L J says it was refused. I don't think there was a lot of support for the idea at the time. |

| It should be next to Alisons, in the Manchester area of the UK (somewhere slightly above middle and to the west! lol!) You may need to refresh the page to see it, but it was working for me (tho I was underneath Alisons a bit)

I think I've done everything right. I tried to redo it but it said my name had been taken I used GYO Alice and I'm sure it's me that took it. My chile should be just above the w in Glasgow but the nearest to it is Lainies. The 8 year old in me just has to see that chile there
What can I do (apart from grow up and I don't want to do that.)
