  • Anyone else tried this new weirdy veg?

This year a mate recommended we try Salsola, which I had never heard of - got it from the Real Seed Co. It's basically a cross between tumbleweed and samphire in looks, (and I believe it is related to tumbleweed, bizarrely)... tastes lovely. Really green and interesting. So far we've just been eating it steamed, or when really young, uncooked in salads.

Anyone else come across it? Anyone else grown it?

Anyone else recommend anything weird and wonderful this year? I like to plant at least one random odd thing every season.

I think the Hairy Bikers cooked with it the other day, if i'm right, it looks like a larger tarragon leaf, they had it in a salad. I love the taste of Samphire, I've only had it the once when i went to London with some friends.

Can you tell us how it grows, how big it gets, how easy it seems to grow, how much yield you get off each plant?

      Please

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.
