Well done! Mine are nowhere near ready yet but I am looking forward to eating them when they are - straight from the plant

I don't think I have ever managed to get one to the kitchen yet

they are magnificent, and when you think it was something like 2 gbp for 100 seeds, they work out extremely cheap!! have halved a few and froze now,i did cook two aswell, they go a lovely yellow when they are cooked,, my first time gardening is looking pretty flukey, apart from turnips and beets, but other than that,

all good, i have already figured out what i want to grow next season, and where, i cant get enough of gardening, only thing is , i might have to expand my garden?, will defo dor more gherkins next year too, very successful

Lucky you and what a beauty, a lovely full cob.
I picked one yesterday to see how mine are doing, very sweet and delicious but a few days or so off being ready.

Very Nice, I ate one straight off the plant of a fellow plot holder last Thursday but it didn't look as good as that one.

Don't forget the French Virtual seed parcel/swap if you want anything for next year (or this year)
All you have to do is send some seeds that you don't want and swap them with anything you fancy on the list.

I picked 3 last week, scrumptious, best veg going for flavour. Just picked 2 more today. I have planted 36 plants with only 2 not taking.

sounds like we all love sweetcorn! ok , i have seen for the french seed swapping thing on here already, i did not know that there were so many of us over here to make something like that work? the only seed that i have in abundance are parsnip (4000 or so seeds) and a very hardy fast growing lettuce, i have no idea what the lettuce is as it self germinated here after we bought the place? so i saved the seeds thinking it must be hardy to have survived and self germinated in november/december?

we been eating sweetcorn all week ..... it's the first time that I have planted sweetcorn ....

we just place them in the oven at 200 degrees C for approx 10 minutes, then sprinke some salt ontop with a knob of butter (not margarine)

I will plant more next year (I get 2 cobs per plant..... some people get 3)
