  • aching all over....

does anybody else ache? We spent a very busy weeken in the garden and on the lottie and long walks with dog, followed by very enjoyable few hours quaffing vino to celebrate!
I'm now suffering - and all self inflicted!!!
Can't believe how much we managed to get done, weather worked out right for a change

I have a few aches and pains, but its mostly because I fell over in the woods on Sunday while we were "doing" archery! Nowt to do with gardening....

Amazed at how quick the peas are now flowering, can't wait, and also how quick the seeds in the gravel drive are germinating and growing such that I am going to have to reach for the week killer!

My legs are pretty stiff and sore. We have a lovely day Saturday but yesterday afternoon it was back to horizontal rain.

Sooooo jealous of flowering peas - mine are about a centimeter high!

Well, it's nice to have company in my slow-poke pea misery. How long have they been in? It's been four weeks for mine, and the sugar snaps only surfaced Thursday. At this rate I might have peas for Christmas...

Some of mine are still in rootrainers in the stayput waiting to go out and are about 6" tall. The ones I already planted out don't seem to be moving! I still ache from last weekend, never mind this one.

I planted 3 lots of peas in guttering, and they germinated in the coldframe. I didn't plant the 2nd (or 3rd!) lot until the first was a few inches high. Planted them out when they were about 5".

And then I planted the "home grown pea seeds" I found in an envelope directly in the soil. They were my last plantings about 4-6 weeks ago. They are now 2" high.

Must be doing something right, makes a change! Will defo do the guttering thing again....

Maybe I just minded my P's and Q's

I cannot stress strongly enough the value of stretching before physical exercise, it really does help.

I have just started training for the Great North Run. I do warm up before running but I also find it very beneficial 'warming down' after a run. I walk around for ages until I cool down a bit and get my breath back.

...................and yes I have aches and pains, but not as bad as I envisaged after not having ran for 12 years!
