    1st parsnip today

Congratulations My first one grew sideways so was no good. There's a thread on it somewhere on the vine.

well done you! did parsnips for the first time a couple of years ago...and totally loved the fact that they grew successfully, albeit that they can be temperamental! enjoy!

Well done Hawthorns. I have to watch my space and how I use it so I keep Parsnips for a winter veg when some other things are not available. They're much sweeter after they've had a touch of frost too.
When did you plant your parsnips and what variety are they.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

My parsnips are ready but like Alice I wont think about using till a frost has sweetened them. I think I have a good crop, They were started in loo rolls and when I thinned them the thinnings were long and as straight as a die.
