    Default Putting up a greenhouse

    Hi everyone.
I'm new to this .... I just signed up today ..... and wondered if anyone could help with my dilemma. I have a greenhouse that has been sat in my shed in it's boxes for a couple of years and I'm now hoping to get it put up and start growing things in it. Do I dig out the turf in an 8'x6' patch and put down weed reducing membrane and then put down either slabs or gravel or can I just put the slabs on top of the grass? I know it's a basic question but I'm not really sure where to start. I'm really looking forward to getting started

    Hello, welcome to the vine!

You can do either really.. it'll need to go on a frame if it's going on the grass - it depends if you want to grow in the borders of your greenhouse (you'd want a path up of some sort other way). The grass will die off from scorch if just left in there.

I used gravel and paving slabs in mine, over stablising membrane:

I used the grass frame legs, in plant pots and then filled with postfix:

Welcome to the vine, mine didn't have a base & being so tall I fastened mine to a breeze block base as I needed the extra height. Like Chris said, you could use one or both borders for plants with paving slabs down the middle. If using gravel, I would play safe & put something underneath it.

Mine didn't have a base so we laid breeze blocks on concrete footings then fixed tanalised laths to the blocks finally the greenhouse was screwed on top.
