  • Polly nearly done.

I am constructing my own polytunnell, and have the verticals and hoops in place, ready to order the cover. I think I will construct sliding doors, for max ventilation. Has anyone any tips, hints for me as I have not even owned a greenhouse before.
I would be gratefull for any comments.

Well I guess if you are very handy you could make your own sliding doors. My personal philosophy is that the less moving parts something has the less can go wrong with it. I just went with a hinged door and there have been no problems. Why do you think the sliding door will give more ventillation? I have removable poly covered panels in the door. I take these out when it is too hot. I have debris netting stapled over the now open holes in teh door to keep birds etc out. If it gets really really hot I'll just open the door itself and hold it open with a large bucket of rocks.
