Default Plant protection cloches

I have pretty much decided to go for crop protection hoops and some kind of netting to protect (where possible) my crops from birds etc.

Anyone got any suggestions or online places where there are any good bargains?

SS, the Garden Warehouse is good for low prices and a wide range of goods. they can be found athttp://www.lbsgardendirect.co.uk/default.asp
I bought Sacks of Vermiculite from them at extremely low prices.

I'm just wondering, can you keep the cloches on all summer? I guess if I did that i'd need good ventilation and a material that's not going to suffocate the plants?

You could keep the cloches on all summer if you had the hoop and polythene type - remove the polythene and replace with something like enviromesh or a light fleece - both let light and water through but keep out the bugs and the birdies. A lot of folk grow their carrots under fleece from sowing to harvesting to prevent attack by carrot root fly so it must be okay.
