Its arrived..its arrived...ITS ARRIVED! After years of dreaming, and a few of saving, I am the proud owner of a new Solent GH.
I an not too worried about the cost, I have spent my children's inheritance. As soon as I can get outside without being soaked I'll make a picture.and download it. (Don't hold you breath). There's pleasure sure in being mad that only madmen know - Anon

Its arrived..its arrived....ITS ARRIVED! Yes, maybe I an just a tad elated
but I really have waited years to afford something good. I was going to make a pikki to-day, but it rained. I know.... I am a wuzz in the rain and was carting around about £5,000 worth of camera! (I was a pro snapper in a previous life).
The GH I THINK is made by Elite Greenhouses. It is a "Solent" and you can google that word. It is white because that is the default colour (and hopefully the pigeon poo may not show up quite so much.
It is 8'7" x 6'3 or 4" wide and supplied with all the bells and whistles. I should be getting a summer of fun.....providing it stops raining here.

Lovely, I hope you and your greenhouse have many happy hours together. I too had to wait for mine, knowing I needed a tough one in this garden. It's a good feeling when you can eventually say "I've got the one I want" isn't it?!

Its arrived..its arrived....ITS ARRIVED! Thanx to everyone for all the encouraging comments. I'll just reply to a few of them, it I may, please.
Bradlo:- Your GH looks nice and spacious, but I don't think it is mine. I've looked at your pikki (together with your birdie ones
) but I didn't see any cantilever "support" which mine has. Yours is lovely, though, but do let me know if it's cantilevering is just hidden with lush growth
Feral:- How did you know it was my birthday?
Well, it's tomorrow actually and I shall be spending the day at a craft fair plying my wares (I'm a carder) and boasting about the GH.
Bigmallly:- Yes Peter would have been very jealous. Sadly, I lost him 51 weeks ago (19th.) I was the gardener, but he was in charge of the mowing, heavy digging, and drinking as many cups of tea that he asked for. No doubt, bless him, he would find excuses to come into my soon-to-be-filled end of the garden sanctum and offer to help. There's pleasure sure in being mad that only madmen know - Anon

Do you know Ann, when I was writing that I had a gut feeling I was going to put my foot in it. I guess I put it in knee deep.........Sorry.

Dear Ann, I've been down the same road as you and I empathise. My husband was happy doing anything that involved gadgets and power tools but he wouldn't have known where to start growing seeds. I found it very hard to make decisions about somethings on my own, as we had been making them together for so long, but, once that first big decision was made I went from strength to strength. I hope that your beautiful greenhouse will bring you great happiness and that you will fill it with lots of love and happy memories. I'm sure Peter would be proud of you.
