Default Hello! I'm a newbie seeking greenhouse advice

Hello all

It seems I've caught the gardening/grow your own bug from my Mum. Now I'm on the pursuit of a bargainous greenhouse but sadly secondhand houses seem in short supply where I am so my thoughts are now turning to a bargain new house.

Firstly, what are the 'must have' things in a green house? I'm going for a small one (6x4) and I've got 2 young children. budget is tight too.

And secondly what is the best base for the greenhouse? I'm thinking of paving slabs - is this fairly cheap and sturdy?

Any other tips for a newbie?

Try your local FREECYCLE group.
I had a greenhouse given to me by friends who has sold their hosue and new owners didn't want it.
Unfortunatley I had only managed to build up the frame before it got crushed by a falling tree in my garden.
I posted a message on Freecyle asking is anyone had any spare section to repair mine and got offered another, complete, greenhouse that vandals had smashed a lot of the glass.
I was delighted as I managed to make one out of the two and gave the remains to a friend who has turned my original into a smaller size thus elimating the damaged sections.

Default Re the FREECYCLE group

What a fab idea I have just joined my local group - there are some great things on there and I am now going down my cellar to see what might be of use to someone else...............brill
