    Freecycle Greenhouse Help Pls!

    I've got this greenhouse & managed to work out how to get the house bit done, but the door is another story. I've had a look at some others but I can't seem to work out mine.

    I have a door with wheels on on end (top or botton - I don't know!)
    and 1 runner which looks much longer than the ones on other peeps door support at the top. I will try to get a photo. I also have no suppot bit that goes up to join the runner on most other greenhouses.

    I'm now worried that I'll never get this up & running - tomatoes now all over the house!

    If its a normal door the wheels will go at the top and the runner at the bottom. The wheels will go along some form of track and the runner will clip onto the underside of the greenhouse base or frame. You will have to feed the door on from one end of the track or you will find it splits in the middle to make it longer, therefore making the door longer so that you can place it over the track at the top and under the runner at the bottom before re-tightening it to shorten and hold it in place.

    If that doesn't makes sense let me know!

          Yes it is the type above, I have the horizontal bit above the door, that has holes in it to fix to frame. I don't have the vertical bit that supports it. I do also have a bit that is as wide as the door but with no holes, I guess seeing the pic that this fits over somewhere.
          I also notice that my door is just 1 big rectangle with no dividers, is this wrong? Is the missing vertical bit the end of the world?

            The vertical bit at the end, is a short piece and you can use any bit of recycled metal to do this once the door is on. It helps to support the weight of the door when the door is open. Even a piece of tube from a metal broom handle/mop. Just hammer the 2 ends flat drill a hole in each end I operated mine for a few weeks before I fitted mine. The door is harder to open without it

              Yes, without it the top runner part will sag and jam the door.

              You can buy a length of aluminium angle from B&Q, cut to length and drill a couple of holes as a replacement - about £2.



              If the glass you have fits the door without a central strutt then you don't need one; otherwise you do. I'm guessing you do.

                I prefer Teakdesk's idea as it won't rust and will match better

                  Thanks all - I seem to live at B & Q these days, sometimes doing things like a womble is not always the easiest way at all! (or the cheapest, but once you start its hard to give up & admit defeat)
