I got some off e bay, seems you can have green or blue!!!! :0) I got green 2m wide and used some old poly piping as framework, it fits my raised beds nicely and I'm well pleased with it!

Thanks Emmylou ! - I bought mine, looking forward to setting it up. I was planning to use an unused hosepipe as hoops, do you think those will withstand the weight of the scaffold netting?

Also what did u use to secure them to the ground?

Hosepipe might be a little too weak depending on how big your hoops will be. The best stuff is discarded water (blue) or gas pipe (yellow) which can be found where most builders have graced an area with their presence recently.

I used green scaffold netting on my brassicas stretched over hoops of 25mm water pipe, you can sew two pieces together with string through slots already in the edges. It has protected them from pests and they are thriving>

Hi, I pushed into the pipe a length maybe 18" of bamboo, pushed two thirds or so in the ground and the rest strengthens the pipe. I think hose may be too floppy, although with cane inside it may be ok! Have a go!

Ok, I'll try this, atleast until I get something stronger. Will keep my eyes wide open to see if anyone/builders r throwing away pipes.

If you have the inclination to spend a bit more time and maybe some money, OH designed a square bamboo bed

6ft long canes sawed in half and then drilled some tennis balls as joiners, then covered with the scaffold netting off ebay. peg with tent pegs. if anyone is interested, i can take some pictures later tonight

Got tennis balls from the poundshop but you should be able to get them off freecycle or if there is a tennis club near you, could ask for the ones which can't be used for playing.

The holes were made by using a drill. Basically, drill a hole for the bottom stake then line it up with the side pieces and then drill and then drill the cross piece. A bit of trial and error but works well as the tennis balls don't stretch and tear the netting.

Yes, sounds good..let me have a look around. I tried to look around for plastic tubes and can't find any for free and they cost £15 in B&Q. This sure will be cheaper and serves the purpose.
