  • Roll Up Roll Up!! - Tesco Tomato Plants (9cm pots) 50p - Buy One Get One Free

Just popped into our local Tesco Store today and came accross Tomato Plants (in 9cm pots) for only 50p - then noticed they were also marked as "Buy One Get One Free".
They were very healthy plants - which is unusual when they are being sold off - Gardener's Delight, Italian Plum and Moneymaker.
I didn't really need any more but can't refuse a "bargain"!!

Well yes...I had a plant sale last month but people are still asking me for more stuff. So we drove past and stopped. He had a load of good stuff...when we went to put the money in the pot it was empty so we dropped ours in and instantly there was a face at the window.

The old dear must be able to hear the sound of metal hitting plastic 1/4 mile away...lol

JackieJ - Think I had better get a part-time job with Tesco so I can get an even better bargain - I'll be a bigger "miser" than I am already (mind you I don't think that's possible)!!

shame - we will be selling tomato plants at the scout group AGM on saturday and we've got a large tescos down the road, so it could hit our sales - ok so we only have a few dozen plants to sell to a small group of people, but if people compare our prices with tesco rather than normal commercial prices, charities like scout groups and churches will lose out - £30 or £40 goes a long way with scout groups ......

Wish I could make it to your sale on Saturday - but just too far away - however I will "Be Prepared" if travelling in your area at the weekend.

Me too though not on an ideal road for attracting passers by. I'm thinking perhaps all at 40p each and 3 for £1... Wilkinson's and B&Q are selling appalling little tomato plants for £1.something each!

We put the last of our plant sale in the drive with a load of jumble with a poster and an honesty box. I was expecting it all to be nicked and didn't mind cos it would have saved me taking it up the charity shop. But over 3 weekends we took £70..only two thing got nicked an old mobile phone and some dvds. I was very happy...as it all went to charity.
