  • Poundland already has seed pots, onions and roses

Popped into Poundland today and ended up buying:

3 Climbing roses (Purple, white & yellow)
    1 Rose bush (Orange)
1 Blueberry 'Patriot' (Needed just for another variety)
    2 packs of seed potatoes (8) - F/E Rocket & S/E Maris Peer
1 pack of Red Baron onion sets (300g)
    1 pack Sea Holly (3)

Fortunately I was in a rush (Dr appt), otherwise I'd have ended up with loads of other stuff. I don't really have space in the garden for more roses, but I just find it too difficult not to have every colour when they are £1. Hence why I've gone for climbing, kidding myself that I can just squeeze them in, if they are climbers.

I was suppose to use the short time I had to maybe do a bit of christmassy/food shopping. But just thought I'd call in to see if they had any plants in yet, looked like they'd just come in today, so it's a great time to buy while fresh/before they dry out.

By the way, I didn't see any sign up or maybe they just haven't got around to it yet. But there must be some kind of plant offer on too, as I only paid a total of £7 when I had 11 items (A5 Diary & pack (2) of ladies thermal socks). No mistake at the till, just a lucky christmas treat.

I'm afraid that joke don't work while there is an offer on, as the price for my 11 items was 0.63p. He he.

Quick run into Poundland again today and the store manager didn't know about the offer, so put everything through the till. Turns out that every plant or bulb pack at the moment is Buy 1 get 1 free. So I bought:

2 packs of seed potatoes (8) F/E Pentland Javelin & Charlotte - salad
2 packs of XL size bulbs of Dutch Iris (25) Blue Magic
        1 pack Poppy Red (3)
1 pack Dahlia Unwin Mixed (3)

        Total of £3

Yeah closed as they don't go into having a sale, everything is still £1. On the upside, it means no one else has been able to go in and pick up the blueberries, so hopefully you'll be lucky today.

The poundland in our town only opened two weeks before Christmas so today was the first time I'd been in, the shop I thought was a poundland is in fact poundworld!

There was no plants and no sale.

so I went in H Samuel's and got myself a new watch in the half price sale

There is no sign up in my local Poundland either, but if it says it on the receipt then it seems all there gardening stuff are on offer. Store manager was not aware either, so it could be that the stock is out before they actually get around to promoting it. But lucky for us, the tills/stock have already been priced at H/Q, so we don't have to wait for the store to get to grips with promotions.

I best get in and have a look again tomorrow, see what products I want and then check them out at the tills. It certainly a good deal for 50p, so I'll might just stock up for the growing season. I now have at least 10 roses in my front garden, so a couple of boxes of rose food would be good.
