  • Mower Land Multi Cutter - no power at cutting attachments.

I have one of those Mower Land 4-in-1 Multi Cutter tools which I bought on Ideal World a few years back. Using the hedgetrimmer this morning, all was going well until I had to disconnect the attachment briefly . When I reattached the hedge trimmer a few moments later it would not run.

The motor re-started / ran fine, but no movement at all at the cutting end. Cutters were free and not jammed in any way. Tried fitting the branch cutting attachment and then the strimmer, but no motion with them either. The square, engine-driven, output shaft turns with the motor, so why is no drive being transmitted to the attachment(s)?

One thing that puzzles me is that both the motor output, and the attachment input, shafts both seem to have identical square-section male ends. I had never noticed this before and so cannot see how they would mate together?

Any suggestions much appreciated. At present I have one half-trimmed garden hedge..! Thanks.

No idea - sorry. I'm sure one of the "boys" will be along soon to help.

I haven't a clue about this gadget but, if you can't see how two square section ends can fit together - have you dropped a vital missing part somewhere when you disconnected the hedgetimmer?
