Compost question Hi,
I've bought some peat free compost and wonder if it is suitable to use in seed trays for starting my veg seeds? It's got more woddy bits in it than the peat compost I'm used to. can I use it?
Cheers
John

I only ever use peat free compost although some types are infinitely better than others and it's taken a while to find one I'm happy with. For seeds, I don't use the bigger twiggy bits but apart from that it's fine.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Thanks Alison.

I use a plastic colander to sieve the compost for seeds. Any really big woody bits either get put straight onto the borders in the garden or into the compost bin.
