  • A bit of Diarmid Gavin!

Any visitors to either my blog, or indeed Wellies will have seen the plastic balls we use as cane toppers.

Last year we got them from B&Q but alas they are not stocking them this year. All is not lost however as Tesco's are stocking them at a cost of £3.97 for a bag of 100, which is £1.02 cheaper than B&Q any how.

just cut a slit in the balll and push them over your canes to bring a bit of the Diarmid Gavin to your plot or garden. As an added bonus you wont poke your eyes out either.

What a super, bright and colourful idea! Must pinch some from my niece when she isn't looking! Bernie

Everybody I tried for the balls was out of stock. I bought plumbers heavy duty pipe lagging in B & Q for 49p metre, cut it into 3" lengths and snapped it onto the tops of the canes (like a T piece). Not as colourful as the balls but it does do the job.

They sell them on Amazon Jennie, but when I looked they were out of stock.

They were on offer at our Tesco Extra for £1.97 for a 100 - but that was a couple of weeks ago. My canes are now all adorned too - and they look fab, if I say so myself!
