    Hi guys

    I planted a potatoe a while back and the plant is HUGE now! it hasnt flowered yet but there is buds. just wondering when i should pull up the potatos

    as far as I know (have not really been growing veg long myself) you pull up the potatoes when the flowers die off, although I suppose if you want new potatoes then you could pull them up earlier. Perhaps someone could help verify that?

      It depends what sort of a potato it was that you planted? If it was an 'early' (salad/new) potato, they usually take around 12-13 weeks from planting. If it was a 'maincrop' potato (big ones which you use in winter for mash etc) they take longer and you should wait for the foliage to die back on these before digging/pulling up.

        SarzWix has it spot on. You cant go by flowering as some varieties dont flower
        some varieties some of the plants will others wont.
        It's not the growing old I mind but the growing stupid with it!
