    anyone grown or growing belana 1st early. there supposed to be a top tasting variety

    hindsight is a wonderful thing but foresight is a whole lot better

    I've grown Bellini but I think that is a totally different spud

      Belana is popular over here but I like Cilena better. Of course, it's a matter of taste
      Both, btw, are early, but not very early. Not as early as Duke of York, La Ratte, Belle de Fontenay or the Red Duke of York, all of which are said to be superior in taste. I've had the Belle and found it fantastic.

        I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite,the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
