  • Kale and other winter veg ?

Could somebody tell me when to sow Kale and other veg for a supply of greens from January to April ?

Also can I stagger the times ?
    Many thanks

Hello Coachman and welcome to the Vine. You can sow kale when you like but since you want it for the winter, it's usual to save your space, take an early crop out of the ground then sow the kale in the space. I think you could plant as late as July and be OK.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Hello and welcome. I only use a few winter greens so I sow kale and purple sprouting in June in a pot (outdoors of course) and put them where an early crop has come out - or sometimes where I've trodden a path so the ground will be firm. 4 or 5 plants of each does us fine.
