If your friend likes pink fir then give the harlequin a try Sarah, they are a pink fir cross with I think charlotte. Only available from JBA.

How long can each type of potato be left in the ground for? For example could first/second earlies be left in right up until the first frost of winter? Or does that really defeat the object of planting earlies? Meaning i should go for a maincrop that stores well.

Here's what i was thinking of ordering next week, nothing fancy:

                  First Early: Swift.

Second Early: Either Kestrel for unknown possible slug infestation or Marfona as jacket potatoes will go down well in our house.

Maincrop: Maris Piper for chips, and Sante for general use.

Of course i'm well open to suggestions

Whatever Wilkos have in when I go to buy them

In answer to Chef Uk ~ I leave mine in the ground until I need them. The last of this years came out at the end of November this year. I am sure I have missed some but they will show themselves come spring I suppose and give me a bonus crop.
